Sugarcane is one of the most important cash crops in the world, used in the production of sugar, molasses, ethanol and bagasse. Our sugar estates are farms dedicated to growing and harvesting sugarcane, ready to supply the milling plant Kagera Sugar Ltd in Missenyi District.

land preparation to cane harvesting and haulage.
This stage involves uprooting all unrequired vegetation, surfacing any ant-hills present in the field, trenching for draining systems, removing logs and debris. Making sure the field is clear and ready for tillage.
Land Tillage
This stage is preparation of the field with a means of mechanical manipulation, involving heavy duty tractors and implements. It involves ripping, harrowing and ridging. At the end of the processes you should have suitable field for sugar cane germination.
Crop Management
The crop needs daily to daily monitoring to ensure its free from any weeds. Application of necessary controls should happen on time to ensure no hindrance on crop growth.
Our cane crop variety takes 15 months to maturity. Kagera Region at Missenyi District where our Estate is based at, is blessed with two seasons of rainfalls annually; hence our crop is 100% rain fed, topped-up with good crop management, the field delivers good yield of 45 tonnes / acre and above.
